Memories in a Bottle
A Digital Storytelling Workshop (2D/3D)

“Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die, we can’t remember who we are or why we’re here.” – Sue Monk Kidd

Every person – regardless of status, belief, gender, and profession, has a story to tell. In fact, many stories to tell for those who are now in their golden years. Stories of love, triumph, pain, success, failure, family, career, dreams, courage, travel, victory, loss, adventure, etc. If you could save all of them, or at least the most important ones in a bottle and keep them or share them to your loved ones, you will.

Here is an invitation for you to revisit your memory lane and capture the defining moments of your life. Attend the workshop and grab your opportunity to find and share your story in a video format. This is for those with or without experience in creating a video and even for those who are newbies to computers. The workshop will help you get through and go back home with a story to share to your family and friends or just for yourself.

Come for the workshop and let’s open your memories and stories in a bottle together!

“No matter what you do in your life, what you create, what career you have…your greatest creation is always going to be your life’s story.” – Jonathan Harris

What is Digital Storytelling?
Digital storytelling is the telling of stories using multimedia tools. The two or three-day workshop will help you choose and craft your story, write it into a script for you to read and record, and later combine your audio narrative with your supporting images (photos, artwork, videos, etc) and music to finally create a digital or video story.

What to Expect
* Be introduced to the heart of storytelling and how to write your story.
* Know the process and digital media tools to create a digital story.
* Be coached to complete and showcase your one to two-minute story.

Who should attend
Retirees, pioneers, parents, grandparents, etc

Moments by Norma Stephenson
“Life is truly not measured by how many breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Many of those moments are not places found on the maps but mostly moments I spent with family and people who matter to me, moments that left marks in my heart forever.” – Norma Stephenson, Digital Storytelling Workshop, USA

Tahoe Memories
“My senses come alive when I am in Tahoe Meadows. I breathe deeply to enjoy the scent of the pine trees; my eyes seek every single beloved part of the property. I close my eyes and listen to the gentle lapping of the waves or the crashing sound of them when the wind comes up…I tear up when I first arrive and drive straight to the beach and I shed a tear when I leave…” – Diane Johanson, Digital Storytelling Workshop, USA

Christopher by Winnie Sutton
“As I am getting to the end of my life, I feel closer to my son Christopher and looking forward to reuniting with him.” – Winnie Sutton, Digital Storytelling Workshop, USA
